Featured BOC Approved Provider (Continued from previous page)
How did you prepare to meet the 2016 Standards for
BOC Approved Providers?
After reviewing the Standards for BOC Approved Providers,
the biggest preparation for us involved reviewing and
updating our policies and procedures handbook, along with
our marketing materials, course hosting agreement forms and
faculty/speaker agreement forms to be sure that items on the
self-study checklist were addressed.
What BOC resources or tools did you use to meet the
The BOC Approved Provider Self-Study Checklist was
definitely the most valuable resource as we prepared our
Approved Provider application this past year. We also
reviewed some of the other resources, videos and handouts
provided on the BOC Approved Provider website.
What tips do you have for providers applying to offer
BOC Approved EBP Programs?
The Clinical EBP Application can be pretty daunting at first;
however, I found that once I got one course application
completed and approved, it really helped give me the
foundation for what information is needed for the additional
course applications that I planned to submit. The application
is separated into appendices, and the BOC does a good job
of providing you with the information that is needed along
with examples for the different appendices. My biggest tip
for those looking at applying for EBP is to not give up on it,
and to use the sample application that the BOC provides on
their website to help you get started. The BOC was great at
answering my questions as I prepared the application as well,
so don’t be afraid to reach out to them for further guidance.
